ATLAS ELEKTRONIK GmbH
The future is unmanned.
GuideMUM’s contribution will be to devise methods and technologies to guide MUM safely through its mission. The system design and overall concept will benefit significantly from ATLAS ELEKTRONIK’s expertise in the construction and operation of underwater vehicles. The aim is to describe architecture and interfaces, determine functionalities and define concepts at an early stage in collaboration with the development partners. The focus lies mainly on new methods of mission planning, mission management and functional safety. Mission planning and management will need to be adapted to the versatile modular design, calling for new concepts. Functional safety involves monitoring the system status and avoiding collisions, and will entail close collaboration with AutoMUM (University of Rostock). For collision avoidance GuideMUM will focus on problems in underwater travel and surfacing maneuvers for which no technical solutions are currently available. ATLAS ELEKTRONIK will also be responsible for integrating the overall software system. This will result in further activities in the areas of guidance system integration, commissioning and trials.
